Reunion 2004Intro Join alumni and friends of NYSC for the NYSCAA 41st Reunion in San Diego, California from August 12-15, 2004. We are still busy planning the activities for this reunion, but intend on covering many parts of San Diego including the beaches, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Old Town, Balboa Park, and Birch Aquarium at Scripps. This is a perfect opportunity to take a vacation to Southern California and visit with old friends and fellow alums. We encourage you to bring your family along and extend your stay. Register today! If you fill in the registration form by July 11, 2004, we will reserve a room for you at our reduced group rate. Rooms may be available after that time, but the reduced group rate is not guaranteed. We'd love to see you for the whole reunion, but if your schedule is tight, you're more than welcome to join us to spend the day with fellow alumni, the banquet on Saturday, or just to say hi (just select the Single Day option on the registration form). Whether you'll be attending or not, make sure to fill out the Bio Update Form. Keep us up-to-date and let us know your current address, family additions, career moves, and anything else you would like to share! Contact If you have any questions or ideas regarding this year's NYSCAA reunion in San Diego, California, please email the reunion organizers at reunion2004_no_spam_please_@i_mean_it.no_spam_whatsoever.nyscaa.org or call Barbara Kumpf McManus at (858) 490-2184. Location San Diego is the southernmost city in California, and sits directly above the Mexican border. It is 2 hours south of Los Angeles, and about 8 hours south of San Francisco. Flights into San Diego are through the San Diego International Airport, just outside of downtown. Discount airlines such as JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines have flights to San Diego. Registration Register today to attend Reunion 2004! Registration fees include most meals between Thursday dinner and Sunday breakfast, the Saturday night banquet, most activities, a hospitality room, and rental of the conference center. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Late registration fees begin July 12, 2004 and our reduced group rates for hotel rooms are not guaranteed after that date. Transportation A complimentary shuttle between the airport and the Handlery Hotel is available. The hotel is within walking distance to the San Diego Trolley, and is a stop for the San Diego Old Town Trolley (which is a bus -- a bit confusing). We will have some car seats available and will help folks with ride sharing when needed. Schedule and Activities We are still busy planning all the activities surrounding this reunion. San Diego has many attractions and we will try to hit a few of our favorites. You may want to book a couple of extra days in the area to see some more of this great city. August is peak time for our weather (should be in the high 70s to high 80s) and water temperature (may even be above 70 degrees!). Saturday morning is the NYSCAA business meeting, and Saturday evening is the Alumni Banquet (at a fabulous ocean front location!). Locations we may be visiting are the world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Birch Aquarium at Scripps, and the beaches. There will also be time for the hotel's pool, catching up with your old friends and meeting some new ones. We are scheduling time for seminars, tentatively Sunday morning, if people are interested. Bring your swim suits, surf boards, golf clubs, walking shoes, and camp memories for a great time! As of July 13, 2004, here is the tentative schedule of events. Seminars Interested in presenting a seminar? Email reunion2004_no_spam_please_@i_mean_it.no_spam_whatsoever.nyscaa.org with your topic. Accomodations Reunion 2004 will be based out of the Handlery Hotel in Hotel Circle, San Diego. We chose this hotel based on its central location, proximity to public transportation, great rates (during peak season), and fabulous pool. See the Accomodations page for lodging information. We are booking the rooms in bulk, so we'll need your confirmation by July 11th. Rooms may be available after that time, but the reduced group rate is not guaranteed. Want to share a room? Email reunion2004_no_spam_please_@i_mean_it.no_spam_whatsoever.nyscaa.org with your information. See the Room Sharing section for details.
