Letter from the Charleston Office

Greetings from the Charleston office!

Laine Lybeck

First a little bit of introduction about me! I was a Montana delegate to the National Youth Science Camp in 2003 and have been on staph since! Most of my years on staph I have served as the Office Manager, those of you out there I am sure can attest to how being in the office rocks (where a lot of the NYSC magic happens)!!! I am now currently working full time for the National Youth Science Foundation as the Director for Alumni Affairs and Develpment!! My Mom and I traveled from Montana to West Virginia at the end of September and I really enjoyed my time even though my car was really cramped and we didn't have much wiggle room! I have now settled into a nice apartment and the best part of it is — I am only a mile from Andy (NYSC Director)!

Since moving to Charleston, I have been working closely with John Giroir (NYSCAA President) in planning the upcoming 45th Alumni Association Reunion, which is going to be a blast and I hope that you will be able to participate in the wild and wonderful West Virginia! I also have been working on updating the Alumni database, archiving pictures and yearbooks and possibly my favorite job, which I take very seriously. The project is making a mess of the Charleston Office! If you don't believe me, you can ask Andy as I know he will attest to the fact that I can make quite a mess!

I hope this newsletter finds you and your family well! Please take some time to look at the newsletter as there is quite a bit of new progress for the Alumni Assocation and Foundation! If you have any comments, suggestions, questions, or just want to chat a bit about your days in West Virginia, please email me at or call me at (304) 342-3326!

Take care and have a great Christmas and New Year's,

Laine Lybeck (MT 2003, Staph 2004-present)
