AccomodationsDorms at Lesley UniversityLesley University Lesley University in Cambridge will be our host for the 2010 reunion. This small university is located a half mile north of Harvard Square, home to Harvard University. They have a variety of small dorms ranging in capacity from 23-84 beds each. Our goal is to have enough people attend that we should be able to have an entire dorm to ourselves. Each dorm building has double rooms consisting of two twin beds, desk, chair, closet, as well as a full, modern kitchen and a common lounge. Bathrooms will be shared. Some buildings are handicap accessible. There is central air conditioning and linens will be provided (pillow, blanket, 2 sheets, 2 towels). The reunion fund will supply soap for the bathrooms. Deadline to register for a room at Lesley University is July 1, 2010 so that we can obtain a dorm large enough for all reunion attendees seeking dorm accomodations. ParkingParking is available on a limited basis at Lesley for $7 per day. Parking must be requested at the time of registration (as Lesley needs to know in advance). Guests will be responsible for going to Lesley’s Public Safety office upon arrival (open 24 hours) and paying for their parking permit. Transportation to/from the DormWe strongly suggest that people use public transportation to attend the 2010 reunion. A cab ride from the airport costs about $40 and parking is scarce and expensive. Lesley University is conveniently located halfway between the Harvard Square and Porter Square subway stops on the Red Line of the MBTA (aka the "T"). If you are arriving by public transportation, we suggest you purchase a 7-day LinkPass for $15 from a T station (subway) upon your arrival. This will allow for unlimited travel on subway, bus or ferry during your stay and will be the most economical way for you to enjoy the city. From Logan Airport, simply take the Silver Line's bus route SL1 (Logan Airport - South Station via Waterfront) to South Station, then transfer to the Red Line inbound towards Alewife. Take the subway seven stops to the Porter station. If you have a lot of luggage, take the elevator instead of the very long escalator up to street level. Exit the doors on your left onto Massachusetts Ave (aka Mass Ave), and turn left to walk down Mass Ave (inbound towards Harvard Square or away from the large shopping plaza at Porter Square). Lesley University is about a 10-minute walk down Mass Ave. If you don’t feel like walking, you can take the #77 bus down Mass Ave instead. Simply cross Mass Ave once you exit the Porter Square station and find the marked bus stop at Upland St and Mass Ave. The bus should be heading towards Harvard Square. If you take Amtrak or a bus into town, both arrive at South Station. From the train tracks, walk into the station and continue straight ahead until you see a flight of stairs heading down towards the subway. Take these stairs, then take the Red Line heading inbound towards Alewife. Exit seven stops later at the Porter Square station, and then follow the directions above.
